MIL-DTL-62462 Engine, Diesel, Liquid-Cooled, 8 Cylinder; 4 Cycle, V-Type, 220 Kw \(295 Hp\)This specification covers the requirements for a liquid cooled, 4 cycle, 90 degree V-type, 8 cylinder internal combustion, compression ignition engine. At 2600 revolutions per minute \(rpm\), the diesel engine is rated at 220 kilowatts \(kW\) \(295 horsepower \(hp\)\). The diesel engine, and the associated accessories furnished by the engine supplier are referred to herein as "engine".

4.3.2 Initial production inspection. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the Government
shall select two units for initial production inspection from the first ten engines produced under
the production contract. Initial production units shall be examined as specified in table II and
tested as specified in table III.
