MIL-DTL-46796 Engine, Diesel: 8 Cylinder, V-Type 390 To 440 H.P.This specification covers several 8 cylinder, V-type, liquid-cooled, 2-stroke-cycle, turbo-supercharged, internal-combustion, compression ignition engines for use in military vehicles \(see 6.1\). The basic design of these engines is very similar and the characteristic differences have been classed as Type I or Type II for the lower or the higher power versions.

6.4 Electrical accessories and equipment. MIL-HDBK-1184 should be used as a

guideline for waterproofness of the electrical accessories and equipment of the engine

(see 4.6.6).

identify changes with respect to the previous issue due to the extensiveness of the changes.
